Piotr, one of the developers we work with in Poland, on some of our systems (including Smrt:Monitor, the App we use to record and monitor Covid tests and vaccines), has been running a refugee support scheme. Every day for the last week he and a group of friends have been delivering food and medical supplies to the border between Poland and Ukraine and then ferrying women and children back to Warsaw as they flee the war zone.
The trip consists of a 500km round trip, and they have so far ferried 50 people back to Warsaw where they are trying to source temporary accommodation for them all.
On Saturday Optimo donated £1000 to support Piotr’s efforts in supporting as many refugees as he and his friends are able… We wish him, his friends and the refugees they’re supporting, safe journeys and are sure Piotr and his team are doing a fantastic job!
